About Us

Hello, allow me to introuduce myself. My name is Perry Tarantine and although this page started out as being mostly for family and friends that know my wife and me, it has now broadened to include people that we know by words and/or pictures only; and so we decided that an "About" page is probably warranted.

I currently work at WYSU-FM as NPR News host Monday through Friday drive-time. I also teach lessons in Voice and Piano. Also I am teaching at the college level at Thiel College and elementary/middle school at Akiva Academy in Youngstown.

Music:
As mentioned above, I teach private lessons in Piano and Voice. In addition, I am a professional Soprano (coloratura) and sing in our church choir, several gigs yearly, as well as playing piano and organ for various functions.  I also have a degree in Music Education and have taught music at various schools over the past thirteen years. I'm also president of the alumni chapter of  SAI (Sigma Alpha Iota). My favorite types of music include Baroque, Classical, Romantic, some popular (where the singer isn't trying to become the poster-child for nodules awareness month), and contemporary choral music both sacred and secular.

Computers:
Well I use them at my job at the radio station, but I'm only now starting to enjoy using them for chat and games, but I'm learning.

My babies:
Hello, my name is April, and I'm a stuffed-animal addict . It all started with Mr. Bear who was purchased by my husband when I was sick one year. While dating, I developed a fondness for MOOSE (and Alaska) as a result of Northern Exposure. Well, Perry had to start producing stuffed moose animals, where he found them I'll never know but now our house is home to over 20 Moosen. In addition to the Moosen, we have wolves, bears, otters, orangutans, penguins, sheep, walruses, rabbits, mastodons, raccoons, dogs, a raven, and sundry other animals (stuffed) at present, in addition we have a couple of live furkids in the house now named Clark and Jenny -- see Cheetie-cam.
